Inspired by the beauty of Italian hill top communities, Hawthorne Court was developed on the site of a dilapidated automotive facility during a time period The Charlotte Observer printed "Charlotte's a gray town". Championed by the Elizabeth community, Hawthorne Court provides a colorful landmark to Hawthorne Lane featuring European stucco, gabled roofs, an up-lighted tree-lined courtyard, a water fountain and gas light accents. Seventeen units range from 960-1500 square feet. The project was completed by Tuscan Development in the first quarter of 2000. Tuscan originally commissioned architect Harry Schrader of Narmour-Wright Associates to design the condominiums and ColeJenest & Stone for landscape and "nightscape'' design.
Uptown Charlotte and access to interstates are 5 minutes away. Plaza Midwood, Chantilly, Eastover, Myers Park and Dilworth are all within a 5 minute drive. With easy access to shopping, restaurants, arts venues and Charlotte's burgeoning nightlife, Hawthorne Court enjoys easy access to recreation.
